Chase away that stagnant old energy and welcome in the new.

Updated: Dec 28, 2019

Traditionally, the Chinese tell us there are five elements that make up the universe and everything in it. In order to be healthy in body and mind, these elements are constantly interacting, balancing and re-balancing.

There are twelve major meridians or ‘pathways’ in the body that qi or ‘life energy’ runs through. These meridians are all connected to the five elements, making them key to our overall wellbeing by aiding the smooth, unobstructed flow of qi and helping us bring equilibrium.

For the next month’s Ucele Yoga classes, we will be looking at one element a week with a particular focus on cultivating a positive, forward-looking attitude, and getting the new year off to a fantastic start.

We will start with WATER by stimulating its Liver and Gallbladder meridians. This will help aid the liver on a physical level to detoxify the body (no judgment – I count myself in overindulgence here!), and encourage the related qualities of openness, wisdom, confidence and willpower. By balancing the Water element within the body, we can help these qualities become more apparent and start 2020 with clarity, renewed passion and purpose.
